CAMPUS ACTIVITIES BOARD POSITION DETAILS Mission: The Campus Activities Board exists to provide educational, entertaining, and stimulating activities and events for all Saint Mary’s College students. These programs range in diversity and interest focusing upon the Lasallian, Catholic, and Liberal Arts ideals. Through these events and activities, the Board’s mission is to provide an inclusive community where all students are welcomed and encouraged to actively learn. The Director shall: Manage day-to-day activities of the Campus Activities Board team - serve as peer mentor and advisor to coordinators and finance manager. (includes collecting office hour info, emailing meeting minutes, delegating event tasks, facilitating meetings with the CAB advisor etc.) Assist with the selection of Campus Activities Board for the upcoming term Oversee all events and activities coordinated by CAB and ensure these programs are in accordance with the Lasallian values and mission of Saint Mary’s College Facilitate weekly CAB team meetings Plan and organize CAB retreat and other team building activities with advisor. Maintain a minimum of 8 office hours per week (not including weekly team meeting) Attend weekly check-in meetings with the CAB advisor Contribute ideas for event topics and activities Model integrity and maturity for CAB members Attend and volunteer at all CAB events when available All Coordinators Shall: Plan and Coordinate exciting and fun events for students Manage budget for your area (special events, concerts, etc.) and communicate regularly with the finance manager regarding budgets and expenses Reserve rooms, submit work orders, order food, order supplies for all events Attend and actively participate in weekly CAB team meetings Assist in the planning of "Gaels on the Go" off-campus events Maintain a minimum of 5 office hours per week (not including weekly team meeting) Attend bi-weekly check-in meetings with the CAB Director Contribute ideas for event topics and activities Model integrity and maturity Attend and volunteer at all CAB events when available The Late Night Coordinator Shall: Be responsible for planning two events per month per semester ranging in interest, variety, and diversity. These Late Night events shall consist of both traditional and new programs, focusing on the themes of entertainment, creativity, and inclusivity. Concerts Coordinator Shall: Plan and facilitate live music events on campus in conjunction with Director and Advisor and hold planning meetings with appropriate faculty and staff regarding all concerts. Concert Coordinator leads the team at concerts, assigning jobs and other duties. The Special Events Coordinators Shall: Plan and facilitate two large scale events per year, contribute to community events (both on and off-campus) such as Weekend of Welcome, De La Salle Week, Admissions Overnights, etc., through co-sponsorship or by planning activities specifically in association with the community event, and plan and implement a minimum of one (1) additional activity per semester that supports and exemplifies the mission of Saint Mary’s College as a Catholic Lasallian Liberal Arts institution. Publicity Coordinator Work with Coordinators and Director to create appropriate and effective publicity for Campus Activities Board events, develop advertisements for the Campus Bulletin, The Collegian, and other campus-forums when appropriate, manage Campus Activities Board Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. Gaels on the Go Series The entire Board will plan the “Gaels on the Go” excursion series involving at least ten off-campus trips a year (i.e. Oakland A’s games, Cal Football Games, Great America Trip) using different sites of interest in the greater Bay Area. Finance Manager Shall: Hold a minimum of four office hours a week, process all financial paperwork, maintain the Campus Activities Board budget, meet with the ASSMC Vice President for Finance and serve on the Finance Committee, relay any necessary information back to the Advisor and Director, and serve as a representative of Campus Activities Board on the ASSMC Finance Committee.
