Required Materials: Scientific calculator capable of two-variable statistics operations Graph paper MyMathLab student access code Course Description: A study of both descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include: data presentation and analysis, measures of central tendency and dispersion, sampling distributions, parameter estimation/confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and linear regression. Course Expectations: Be here and on time every class session. Be prepared to discuss assigned content material at each class session. Use of cell phones during class is prohibited. Guidelines for Success: It is critical you attend class, since we cover a substantial amount of material each night. Take good notes while reading the text and during class. Bring questions for next class session. Get help as soon as you need it. Don’t wait until you are behind. Use the Math Lab, form a study group, get a tutor, etc. Do all the homework. Difficult to perform on exams without practice. Show all work on tests. I give partial credit. If difficulties arise regarding attendance or content, discuss with me as soon as possible.
