New Business

Seminar 2012: Las Vegas, NV- Oct 18th-21st
o Paris Las Vegas Hotel
o Going to talk to Professors about class on Friday-10/19/12
 Student programming starting at 11:30am Friday


Residency Showcase at 2:30pm Friday and 10am Saturday
 Student Quiz Bowl- Saturday 3pm.
Information on volunteering will be out soon: local CSHP chapter is involved in the programing and is looking for
volunteers.

Clinical Monitoring Program- San Joaquin General Hospital
o Applications due 7/23/12
o Tracy Joy King (current SJGH intern): she spoke about the different advantages, you actually get to do clinical work,
good preparations for rotations and looks go on your resume, time you put in is what you are willing to give. 2-3
hours a week. Every semester assigned a monitoring activity 1st renal dosing. 2nd semester Smoking cessation, 3rd ivpo conversions. The work is independent. Of course pharmacists are there to help you. Other adverse drug
reactions, medication reconciliation. Every semester given something different to do. Dr. Hinton is a very good
mentor. Also good opportunities to do research. Any questions contact


Grassroots Advocacy: Get recognized
o Attended CSHP Leg Day is step one, and the other steps are not that difficult. Go to the website and check out
how to get involved.

Bylaws Changes
o 1st change. In by-laws have elect positions, bc on campus for only 2 years, no need for elect positions.
o 2nd change liaison to cshp-cv liaison, more complete title.
o 3rd legislative chair, to ssec elect. More complete title.
o Remove the officer elect position descriptions
o Change the nomination to include through email and or writing.
o Election description, elections will be held annual ….. copy past
o Voting will take place at the next meeting

Legislative Intern Interest- More info to come
o Gaging interest, in a pharmacy intern 2nd year student to intern with the state assembly men in Sacramento health,
and longevity he is interested in having an intern 1-2 spots. Everything will not be pharmacy related. Good for us to
have another voice in the state assembly.

