VACANCY BULLETIN Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer (Mathematics) Mathematics and Statistics Post level: 6/7 Ref. 13/488 The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, in the Faculty of Science has a permanent position of Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer (Mathematics) at the Arcadia Campus Critical Performance Areas Teaching and Learning in any of the major disciplines of Mathematics, Leading role in developing and revising the curriculum in collaboration with industry and other stakeholders and aligned to the strategic vision of the department Leading a rearch group with particular emphasis on the training and supervision of postgraduate students Ability to attract external funding for research and to be a leader in one of the research niche areas of the department Liaising with industry and other stakeholders regarding excursions, research and community projects Participation and administrative leadership in departmental, faculty and institutional committees and activities relating to the learning programmes of the department Minimum Requirements [ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR] A relevant Doctoral Degree in any branch of Mathematics At least Five (5) years experience in teaching, research or industry with a good track record of publications in peer reviewed journals and post-graduate student training and supervision A qualification in Education and an NRF rating will be a strong recommendation Registration with the South African council for natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and membership with a professional body such as the South African Mathematical Society is recommended [SENIOR LECTURER] A relevant Doctoral Degree in any branch of Mathematics At least Five (5) years experience in teaching, research or industry with a good track record of publications in peer reviewed journals A qualification in Education will be a strong recommendation People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
