The Department of Animal Science, in the Faculty of Science has a permanent position of
Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer at the Pretoria Campus
Critical Performance Areas
 Teaching and Learning in the disciplines of Animal Science/Production.
 Preparation and development of learning and assessment materials.
 Presentation of lectures, tutorial and practicals, on and off-campus.
 Participation in activities related to the learning programmes of the department such as
curriculum development, quality assurance, community engagement as well as liaison with
industry and other stakeholders.
 Participation in Departmental, Faculty and Institutional Activities.
 Research and Supervision of postgraduate students within the niche area of the Department.
Minimum Requirements

A relevant Doctoral Degree.
A BSc in Agriculture and/or B-Tech Degree in Agriculture specializing in Animal
Production, Animal Breeding and/or Animal Genetics.
Five (5) years of teaching and/or research experience.
A proven research track record of publications in peer reviewed journals.
Supervision of Masters and/or Doctoral Students.
Industry liaison.
Presentation at national and international conferences.
Registration with South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions is
recommended.
NRF Rating will serve as a strong recommendation.
