greatly reduced life chances as a result. There are many factors that can cause a young person to fall
behind, from arriving at school hungry and not being able to concentrate, to struggling with English
as a second language and not being able to make friends and develop communication skills.
Our work focuses on three areas:

2. Core skills – Extra support for core skills which employers say are absolutely essential, particularly numeracy and literacy

Overall Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the job role is to provide administration support for the charitable activities team to
ensure effective project delivery and evaluation, primarily supporting Count on Us, City Pitch and
the Mayor’s Fund for London Youth Board. The Programmes Administrator will be responsible for
establishing and maintaining effective administrative systems for a diverse and exciting portfolio of
projects. They are responsible for supporting effective and successful delivery of these projects by
providing excellent administration and data management.
Job Description
Mayor’s Fund for London is based at City Hall in London Bridge. The role will involve occasionally
evening and early morning events so a flexible approach to working hours is required and time off in
lieu will be granted in these circumstances. Occasional travel across London for project meetings or
events may be required.
Role Responsibilities

Administrative support for the Count on Us numeracy programme and City Pitch.

Evaluation support for the Count on Us numeracy programme and City Pitch.

Event coordination, session delivery and administrative support for the Mayor’s Fund for
London Youth Board.

Support and assistance across the charitable activities portfolio of projects and support the
aims and objectives of the team.
Key Tasks

To support the delivery of the Count on Us and City Pitch Schools projects with a focus on
providing first rate administrative and organisational support.

To distribute marketing materials for schools projects and process applications from
interested schools, also to support all school recruitment related activities such as attending
education fairs and events.

To distribute and log completed project agreements documents from participating schools.

To assist in planning and delivery of schools events held at City Hall, including school
tournaments and teacher training sessions. This will involve preparing risk assessments and
logistical responsibilities for events.

To maintain paper and electronic filing systems relating to projects, including preparing
reports for internal and external stakeholders and funders.

To maintain finance records for projects, including processing invoices and purchase orders.

To lead on evaluation data entry and handling for Count on Us and City Pitch. To also assist
in the development of best practise dissemination from the Count on Us Maths Club.

To support the Mayor’s Fund for London Youth Board including assisting with facilitating
sessions, working with Senior Management team to set meeting agenda and liaising with
young people and parents directly.

To provide support and information for schools participating in Count on Us and City Pitch,
including answering enquires by phone and email.

To coordinate project related collateral and manage orders accordingly.

To support the PR and Communications team with charitable activities related events and
projects where required.

To attend and support wider Mayor’s Fund for London events and wider as required.

To act as a champion for the Mayor’s Fund for London when interacting with all
stakeholders and consistently adhere to the Mayor’s Fund for London ethos and values in all
areas of work.
Person Specification
1. Experience of providing administration support in an office environment.
2. A strong understanding of the challenges faced by young Londoners and an interest in helping children and young people fulfil their potential.
3. An organised approach in the workplace and the ability to work independently and use own
initiative to achieve results.
4. Experience in working with young people and interest in facilitating Youth Board meetings.
5. An interest in the charitable sector and working with London schools.
6. Ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
7. Experience of working to demanding targets and deadlines on an ongoing basis.
8. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a range of audiences.
9. Strong ICT skills, with good experience of using Microsoft Office.
10. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work.
11. Experience of or willing to learn about supporting project evaluations.
Role Details
Salary: £22-25k per annum

Reports to: Schools Programme Manager
Hours: Full time, 9am – 5.30pm with a one hour lunch break
