Personal Statement
Teaching goals: Ongoing projects include development of a structured orientation
course for new hospitalists.
Develop an evaluation tool for delivery room resuscitation to ensure adherance to
NRP guidelines and demonstration of a high level of competency.
Develop hospitalist teaching rounds in NICU, mother/baby unit and normal
newborn service.
Develop seasoned hospitalist preceptors to enhance the post-residency training of
new hires.
Personal clinical goals: to continue to provide clinical coverage for NICU patients,
delivery room resuscitation of newborns and consultation for L/D, normal newborn
nurseries. Continue to expand my teaching skills for residents and hospitalists.
Long term goal is to transition to advanced level hospitalist.
Leadership goals: develop procedural skill clinics for hospitalist group.
