Our ref:T:\FO\R\Lunch Pass request LET.doc
Dear Parent/Carer
Lunchtime Arrangements
Students at Court Fields Community School are encouraged to remain on site at lunchtime when they can take part in
activities or socialise with friends. There are a range of activities available during the lunch break, which include
various sports practices and the Learning Resource Centre is available to complete homework/coursework. The
School Canteen offers an extensive range of food as well as facilities for eating packed lunches brought from home.
During the lunch-break, students are supervised by school staff; however, we do expect students to take responsibility
for their behaviour and to take care of facilities and resources available to them.
Students who stay for lunch must remain on the school site for the whole of the lunchtime as the school staff
are responsible for their safety. Leaving the school site to purchase food, snacks or sweets from local shops
is not allowed.
Parents/Carers of students who live within 10 minutes walking distance from school may request a lunchtime pass.
Once a pass has been signed by parents/carers they are passed to Head of House for final authorisation. A pass may
not be issued if a student has poor attendance or lateness to school. The school retains the responsibility to withdraw
a lunchtime pass when a student abuses the agreement. Students who are granted permission to go home and have
a lunchtime pass are to go home. Socialising in the town centre or purchasing food from local shops, or going to
friends’ houses for lunchtime, are not allowed. Whilst off the premises, students are the responsibility of
parents/carers.
Students’ behaviour to and from school should be within school policies and take account of being considerate to
members of the community.
Students are expected to return punctually to school by 2.00 pm. Students who return late to Period 5 may have their
pass withdrawn.
Please complete and return the appropriate reply slip to indicate the arrangements you require.
Yours sincerely
MRS E FAULL
Head
