Cashless Cafeteria 12th November 2015 As from Thursday 12th November Ladywell Primary will be operating a cashless cafeteria. Each child from P1 - P7 will be given their own personal swipe card on Thursday. They will use the machine in the dining room from 8.30-9.15 each day to put money onto their cards, on a weekly or daily basis and this information is transferred to the kitchen. One of the classroom assistants will be there to supervise this operation. Each child will have their photograph taken by a web cam on Wednesday 11th November with the image being placed onto the kitchen computer. This means no one else can use their card. At lunchtime the children go into the dining room for lunch, say their name and class, and the dining staff will select their card, check their photograph and automatically adjust their cash balance depending on what they spend. This system allows a steady flow at lunchtime and no discrimination made between those children entitled to free meals, as their card will be credited by NLC accordingly. All children are responsible for independently placing money on their card and children should add to their balance each morning or if you wish for the week on a Monday. P1 - P3 require to add money if they buy from the school tuck shop, although at the moment they do not need any money for school lunches. On Thursday 12th November each class will be trained during the morning on how to put money on their card, before trying it for themselves on Friday. Thank you. Mrs Ashworth Head Teacher
