Since so many of our Polish brethren attend St Joseph’s we intend to have the First & Second
Readings in Polish every third Sunday of the month. The Responsorial Psalm will still be read
by the reader on the rota for that day.

The Offertory for last week was £ 627.72. The collection for Catholic Communications was
£111.85.
We are asking for a volunteer to guide the children’s liturgy at St Joseph’s at the Saturday and
Sunday Masses. Pat Ellis did this for a number of years and the children brought up a candle
at the beginning of Mass to light for their Liturgy.
The annual CAFOD pilgrimage to HOLY ISLAND is on July 5. A coach will leave St
Benedicts, Garforth at 7.30 am and costs £15. Please contact Ben or Joanne at the CAFOD

SUNDAY JUNE 15 IS THE FIRST HOLY COMMUNION MASS AT HOWDEN
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AT ST JOSEPH’S WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE 11AM
MASS ON SUNDAY JUNE 22ND.
First Confessions at Goole will start at 3.45 on Friday June 13 but will be staggered because of
the numbers. There will be more confessions on the same afternoon but later on .
Confirmation will take place at St Mary’s, Selby on June 27th at 7pm
We have 6 candidates, 3 from Howden and 3 from Goole who will be instructed by Marie
Evans at St Mary’s , Selby. Because of this falling on the same day as the Feast of the Sacred
Heart, we shall not be able to have our usual Sacred |Heart Mass at Howden that day,
