Classroom Procedures and Expectations:
In this classroom, there are only seven rules that I expect the students to follow. These are broad
and overarching rules that encourage the students to grow as young adults.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Be where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there.
No eating or drinking in the classroom
Don’t speak while others are speaking
Be respectful
Be responsible
Be prepared
Think before you speak
I expect my students to act in a respectful and positive manner throughout the year. Any
behavior that does not follow my guidelines will be dealt with in the classroom unless I feel that
it needs to be taken higher. Along with my guidelines, the students will need to follow the school
rules which can be found in the student handbook.
Late Work Policy:
Crescent High is implementing a new procedure called the Power of ICU. This plan
expects all students to turn in all assignments on time. Missing assignments will not be left
unnoticed. All students should receive an ICU handout that details this initiative that encourages
the students to turn in all assignments. Please be sure to read the handout and contact me with
any questions you may have.
If a student does not have their work, they will fill out a yellow “Missing Work” sheet to
turn in. They are to give a reason why they do not have their work; when the work is turned in,
the bottom portion of the sheet will be given back to the student with their grade and the amount
of points taken off due to the work being late.
Absence Policy:
Attendance every day is expected; however, if a student is absent, they will find their missing
work with their name on the “While You Were Out…” board. The students are expected to come
to me with any questions regarding the assignment, and they will have the amount of days
missed plus one (example: if a student is absent for one day, he/she will have two days) to turn in
the assignment. When ready, the student will personally hand me their work so I can take them
off the ICU list. If a student misses the due date of a major assignment, the assignment is
expected to be turned in the day the student comes back to class.
Helpful Resources
Remind: This is an online site that will allow me to send out messages to parents/students cell
phones. Messages will include assignment due dates, reminders of major tests and any projects
that may be due, or anything else deemed important for the success of the students and benefit of
the parents. All phone numbers are anonymous. I will not be able to see your number or the
students’ numbers, and you will not be able to see mine.
