Pharaohs were the rulers of Ancient Egypt. They were at the highest level of
Egypt’s social structure. Egyptians believed their rulers were also gods. King Tut,
Hatshepsut, and Cleopatra are three of the most well-known pharaohs in Ancient
Egypt.
King Tut became one of the most famous pharaohs after his tomb was discovered. He was the 13 th pharaoh of the 18 th dynasty in Ancient Egypt. He began his rule when he was eight years old. He changed his name to Tutankhamun after his father died. King Tut was a short-lived ruler. He died when he was only 18 or 19.
