Paleolithic and Neolithic Sensory Figures Objective: Create a sensory figure from each of the Prehistoric eras we have studied this unit. You will create one from the Paleolithic and another from the Neolithic Stone Age. Get creative, but be sure to keep it historically accurate. You decide upon your characters’ age. You will have some class time to work on this project. Whatever you don’t finish at school will be done at home and needs to be turned in on time. Because this project is a concluding activity, it will be worth 100 points. DUE DATE: ______September 18_____ Each sensory statement needs to be specific and reflect the knowledge that you have learned in this unit. Statements must relate to your characters’ life in the specific Stone Age period. Be sure to use factual information for Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. Statements should be written in the first person (I see … ) and reflect the characters’ senses: 1) See 4) Touch 2) Hear 5) Smell 3) Taste 6) Think (sense) 2. Rough Draft: Quickly sketch your people on a scrap piece of paper (rough draft) Picture of character should fill the space Add some background details that reflect the environment of each era. Plan out where you want each sentence placed on your picture. Don’t spend too much time on your rough draft. 3. Final Copy: May be typed or hand written. If you write it out, you must use pen. Use the large white paper or poster board for your final piece. Be sure to have a title for your sensory figures: for example, Paleolithic Man/Woman or child and Neolithic Man/Woman or child. Characters must be drawn realistically and with detail (no stick figures allowed). Final copy must be colored neatly. Your final copy must look professional and meet the above requirements.
