Week beginning Monday 4 January 2016 – all waste and recycling collections will return to the normal day. Residents are being reminded of the need to recycle as much of their waste as possible to reduce the amount being sent to landfill as well as help the council to achieve the strict statutory recycling targets set by Welsh Government. The community recycling sites are open all year round to enable residents to recycle their waste, the household waste and recycling centres are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Also attached is a poster detailing these arrangements which we’d be very grateful if you could please put these up on noticeboards etc to inform residents in your communities. A postcode search facility will be launched and made available on the website shortly which will enable residents to view their refuse collection dates. Recycling dates will also be provided on this facility in the near future. Could you please pass this information onto your colleagues as soon as possible, especially if you do not have a meeting scheduled for some time.
