IR has developed a database with 51/2 years of enrollment. Kathy Todd prepared the report. Michael emailed the report to the group and encouraged them to review where low enrollments have been consistent and how rooms are being used. The report is broken into five divisions, and how many sections were continuously allowed to run five student classes. Every on campus with enrollments of less than 10 during prime time is included in the report. There was a question about adding room caps to the report. Sarah Ferguson reported on moves in J104, 105 and 106. J104 will be a 25 seat PC lab and drop in area for Math and developmental math. J105 will hold 21 PCs for English and ESOL; J106 will hold 22 PCs for English 1301. English added a total of 23 sections in fall2014. Labtops and study carrels from J104 and J105 will be moved to J122. Sarah is looking at 10:30-12:30 availability in W building for prime time classes. Sarah reported that the preliminary spring schedule shows rooms available in prime time. She needs to know which sections are ghosted by November 13. Vernon Hawkins reported that rooms available in W building have a maximum capacity set at 24 students. Also, CE has changed the time schedules to better utilization of classes. However, giving up rooms for 16 weeks can be a financial issue for CE. Vernon will work with Sarah on rooms; Sarah s concentrating on prime time classes. Kendra Vaglienti will offer a Monday only class. There was a discussion about eight week classes and their success. New Mathways Project Claire Bambrough reported on the Mathways Project coming from the Charles Dana Center at UT. All 50 community colleges in Texas have to participate in this project. New Mathways Project consists of three new math pathways — Statistics; Quantitative Literacy; and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) — aimed at allowing college students who place into developmental mathematics courses to complete a credit-bearing, transferable mathematics course relevant to their future major or career goals in one academic year. Students in NMP will also take a newly developed student success course meant to support them through math and in their chosen majors and careers. Brookhaven has a task force and are asking for one rep from each division to give input into what would be best mathways for students. Other Juanita reported they received the board scores.
