SARAH HOMECOMING
Three year old Sarah Dawson is back in her mother's arms, a little cranky after a long flight, but safe and
sound.
"I'm glad to be home."
Carrie, her daughter Sarah, and the precious ragged stuffed animal named Rat Man are back home in
West Virginia after three months apart. In February, Carrie's parents, Johnny and Donna Mays abducted
Sarah and fled to Yuma, Arizona. Last week, police tracked down the Mays and Sarah and took them into
custody during a routine traffic stop.
“Daddy loves you.”
Her father, Carrie's ex-husband Timothy Dawson says he’s grateful investigators have found his little girl.
"Without them and their hard work there is no way this would have happened.”
The Mays apparently decided to take Sarah after a court order giving Dawson visitation rights. But this
embrace doesn’t come without a cost. Carrie’s parents face criminal abduction charges, and her trust in
them has been shattered.
“It’s going to be hard on me. I don’t know how else to explain it, Well, at least I got her back.”
But it’s a price she is willing to pay.
