Specific Job Description: Lockheed Martin UK requires a Systems Engineer to join the team able to work across several programmes. The role will encompass all aspects of a systems engineering lifecycle across several domains. The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge in defining and capturing requirements, developing system level designs and seeing work through to verification and validation activities. The successful candidate shall have an understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering and be able to work with Agile development principals. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering systems engineering and technical design assurance activities against both business and technical architectures. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively work with customers to ensure the successful delivery of integrated outcomes and to ensure engineering activities are consistent across all Task Orders, while providing visibility of progress, emerging risks and issues. Successful candidates will perform systems analysis, design and delivery activities, including technical planning, architectural trade studies and management of interfaces between internal and external systems. Successful candidates will be expected to apply their knowledge of computer systems and industry best practice in the performance of their duties and be responsible for ensuring compliance standards are met by the application of appropriate processes, procedures and tools throughout the systems and software development lifecycles. Successful candidates will be expected to display a proactive and innovative approach to developing complex technical solutions to difficult customer business/mission problems. This role will require frequent interaction with the customer in a technical capacity. Required Skills: Knowledge as a Systems Engineer in programmes that encompasses systems architecture, requirements analysis, configuration control Knowledge of various Systems Engineering lifecycle concepts Technical confidence in a customer facing/consultation role. Good communication skills, able to work with other Lockheed Martin staff and regularly with customers and subcontractors and internal product development teams. Knowledge of procedures relating to software architecture and design, software integration and test, and requirements verification. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
