Cemetery Rules and Regulations
The policies, guidelines and regulation set forth hereafter are established by St. Mary of the
Annunciation Catholic Church, Navilleton, to provide for the proper management and
appearance of its cemetery.
1. Registered members of the parish may purchase a grave site prior to a person’s death
after meeting one of the two requirements: A. The person must be a parish member for at
least 10 years and has reached the age of 45 years. B. The person has a terminal illness.
2. There may be up to three grave sites purchased, according to the need: one for self, one
for spouse and one for a dependent child.
3. For purposes hereunder, registered members of the parish include the immediate family
of then registered Catholic members (i.e., husband, wife, and children), regardless of
religious affiliation.
4. Right of Burial may be purchased only for the expected use of the purchaser and his/her
family, and may not be purchased for resale.
5. All gravesites must be marked with some type of permanent monument. The height of a
monument may not exceed 36 inches.
6. All monuments are the property of the grave site family. St. Mary’s Navilleton assumes
no responsibility for the upkeep of said monuments.
7. No shrubs, trees, glass vases, or any permanent objects, such as benches, are permitted to
be planted or installed upon any grave site. Shepherd’s canes are acceptable, however,
only one per grave stone.
8. The Cemetery will not be responsible for any floral designs; however it has the authority
to remove any unsightly or dangerous items.
9. Foundation - The concrete base on which the monument rests may not come closer than 6
inches of the edge of the grave site. The foundation of all monuments shall be
constructed of poured concrete, set to a minimum depth of two feet. It is prohibited for
any dirt to be added to any other existing gravesite.
10. One in-ground interment of cremains is allowed above an existing vault, a Second Right
of Interment and costs $150. Only a flat stone is permitted, within the grave site for
marking the cremains of a body.
11. No more than two persons may occupy a grave site. Either one vault & cremains on a
site, or two cremains.
