CHEVELEY PARISH COUNCIL
Acting As The Burial Authority For The Parish Of Cheveley
BURIAL FEES
FEES AND PAYMENTS (effective April 1 2015)
The sums set out below will apply where the deceased person or where one of the
parents of a stillborn child is an inhabitant or parishioner of the Parish of Cheveley.
Where the deceased is not or neither of the parents of a stillborn child are inhabitants
or parishioners of Cheveley then the relevant fees will be doubled
For the sake of clarity the following notes in relation to the term “inhabitant” or
“parishioner” will apply equally:
1. For the purposes of the rule an “inhabitant” shall mean a person who, normally
at the date of application or at the date of his or her death, had normally resided
some time during the last 2 years immediately prior within Cheveley Parish
Council’s boundary.
2. The fees and payments may also be reduced where it can be proved to the
Parish Councils satisfaction that exceptional circumstances exist that would
warrant a reduction. The Parish Council’s decision will be final. In cases
where a reduction is sought the full fees should be paid and written application
should be made for a refund once the funeral has taken place
3. Residents who have to move out of the area through no fault of their own to a
residential or nursing home or into the care of a relative's home are to be
treated as though they are still an “inhabitant” irrespective of length of absence.
