ARTSWORK Communications Assistant – Marketing and Events Summary The Communication Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join the Artswork Communication’s team. It requires an individual with the ability to work as a team member but also on their own initiative. Under the guidance of the Communications Manager, you will bring with your enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to develop your internal and external communications skills. About Artswork Artswork is a national youth arts development agency, committed to transforming the lives of children and young people through arts and cultural practice. Artswork’s mission is to place the arts at the heart of work with, for and by children and young people and to champion, lead and facilitate high quality work led by artists, arts and cultural organisations including the development of young arts practitioners/leaders. Artswork works through strategic alliances with the arts, cultural, education, youth and community sectors and aim to act as national champion to increase opportunities for children and young people to lead, participate, work in, experience and enjoy the arts. Artswork delivers work through our role as the Bridge Delivery Organisation for the South East region. Artswork is supported by Arts Council England to deliver this major strategic role (from April 2012 to March 2015) strategic projects and programmes advocacy and networks including the English National Youth Arts Network (ENYAN) development of leadership and skills (Training programmes) As a Bridge Organisation for South East England, and funded by Arts Council England for this purpose, Artswork will support the delivery of the Arts Council’s goal to ensure that every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts. As part of this role, Artswork will develop and deliver a strategic approach to increase access to the arts with, for and by children, young people and their families, in and out of school (particularly in areas of least engagement) - and including embedding Arts Awards and Artsmark – under the following priorities Priority One To improve the delivery of arts and cultural opportunities for children and young people Priority Two To raise the standard of arts and cultural work being produced for, with and by children and young people 1 Artswork now wishes to appoint a Communications Assistant (Marketing and Events) to support the work of the Communications Manager and the organisation's communications needs. Key Accountabilities Working with the Communications Manager and inline with the Communications Strategy you will: time in % Events Give logistic, marketing and planning support to all Artswork events from planning stage through to delivery including organising internal meeting and creating event timelines producing and collate promotional material and attenders information manage the internal Artswork’s shared diary disseminated internal and externally deal with external companies and enquires Marketing ensure Artswork branding and logo is adhered to by partners and stakeholders maintain and upload content to the Artswork website and database coordinate print and publication production, including print management research, develop ideas and content for artswork.org.uk and other online platforms collate, analyse and produce reports to informing communications plans and strategies 50% 50% General Requirements for Artswork Posts Undertake the necessary administration involved in delivering the role Work closely with colleagues and partners to ensure compliance with all relevant legislative requirements, including health and safety, safeguarding and equal opportunities.
