Budget and Negotiation Work Session
Meeting Minutes
August 26, 2013
6:00 p.m.
Paris School Board of Education Meetings are now being recorded. To make arrangements to listen to the

1. Call to Order- President Deanna Krumm called the meeting to order at
6:08 p.m.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
3. Roll Call- Present for the meeting were: President Deanna Krumm, Treasurer
Dennis Hrupka, Clerk Colleen Belmont, Member Mike Cavalenes and District
Administrator Roger Gahart. Vice-President Joan Hancock was not present for the
meeting.
4. Approval of Agenda-The agenda was approved on a Cavalenes/Hrupka motion.
Motion carried 4-0.
5. Approval of Request for Transportation of Open Enrollment Out Student-On a
Cavalenes/Hrupka motion, the Board approved the request for transportation of an
open enrollment out student. Motion carried 4-0.
6. Budget Review and Development-Journal entries still coming in from the auditors.
Budget does not yet include the Building/Repair Fund and a possible Capital
Improvement Fund. The Declining Enrollment and Hold Harmless credits are
included in Revenues.
7. 2013-2014 Teacher Compensation-Mr. Hrupka furnished a spreadsheet to show
calculations in compensation for longevity (5-year increments) and for completion
of Masters programs and PDP licensure. The Board also discussed an increase in
credit reimbursement with a stipulation if the awarded teacher leaves the district
within a set amount of time.
8. District Newsletter Discussion and Development-Mr. Gahart will email a list of
potential topics and Board members should do the same.
A work session was scheduled for Monday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m.
9. Adjournment-The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m. on a Cavalenes/Hrupka
motion. Motion carried 4-0.
