MSUDenver Scholars Club Constitution
Article I – Name
The name of this organization shall be the MSUDenver Scholars Club.
Article II – Purpose
The purpose of the MSUDenver Scholars Club is to create a social community and facilitate academic
networks that will enrich the college experience for MSUDenver students.
Article III – Membership
Membership to the MSUDenver Scholars Club is open to all students of the Metropolitan State University
of Denver with the following qualifications:
 Minimum 3.0 GPA
 Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester

A scholarship recipient or have a genuine interest in seeking one
 Become a member on OrgSync
 Must attend at least one MSC workshop/event per semester
 Must be an active participant in planning and executing volunteer events
Article IV – Officers
The elected officers shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
The term of office shall be one academic year.
Elections shall be held by the third week of the fall semester.
It shall be the duty of the President to preside over meetings.
He or she shall also reflect positively on the organization.
It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to receive, manage and disperse all organizational funds.
It shall be the duty of the Secretary to take minutes of the meetings and to deal with non-financial matters
of the organization.
If an officer fails to meet job duties of his or her position the board may elect to remove said officer by a
majority vote by the members and proxy votes present at the election meeting.
Article V – Meetings
Official rules of parliamentary proceedings for the MSUDenver Scholars Club are adopted from Robert’s
Rules.
Business meetings shall be held at least twice each semester, and at such additional times as the board
of directors shall deem necessary.
One meeting each year shall be designated as the annual meeting for the election of officers and
directors.
Article VI – Amendments
This constitution may be amended at any time by a majority vote by the members and proxy votes
present at the election meeting.
Article VII – Adoption
This constitution shall be the official for governing document for Metro Scholar Club upon official
registration with the Office of Student Activities.
