Erasmus Mundus Special and Inclusive Education Visiting Scholar Application Form Guidance Notes APPLICATION DEADLINE: 17 July 2015 VISITING SCHOLAR ROLE: Network with staff and students – creating opportunities for further institutional networking and collaboration. Take part in activities for engagement with students and staff. Contribute to lectures, seminars, and talks at the institution(s) for students and staff. Conduct a short research project in relation to the Programme, and write a report of the experiences and research findings during the time of your visit. Act as a critical friend – interacting with and supporting students. Be invited/encouraged to present a paper on an area related to their area of interest and expertise at the programme’s annual conference. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Required English Language level Professional/academic experience in the field of Special and/or Inclusive education (SEN or SIE) Qualifications related to SIE/SEN/inclusive education/disability (either a doctorate or professorship in or related to Special and/or Inclusive Education) Outstanding academic and/or professional experience that will bring added value to delivery of EMMEC Commitment to actively participate in EMSIE (the programme) activities Be willing and able to spend minimum 2 weeks and maximum 2 months in two partner HEIs on the programme. EMSIE Scholar Application Form Guidance Notes 1 SELECTION PROCESS: First stage: Applications screened against the above entry requirements. Second stage: Joint Selection Board constituting all 3 EU partner institutions meet to review and approve applications against the consortium’s selection criteria. Third stage: All decisions are sent to the EU for approval. FINANCING THE PROGRAMME: The EU commission grants scholarships to the scholars fulfilling all above criteria, selected by the consortium. These scholars carry out teaching and research assignments and scholarly work in the institutions participating in the programme. Complete the application form and return to EMSIE@roehampton.ac.uk along with the following supporting documents: Evidence (Scanned PDF file) of your degree transcripts, certificates and/or progress to date (these must be supported by a certified translation if the original is not in English) *only include certificates and transcripts relating to required academic qualifications. A personal statement in support of your application (a minimum of 500 words, maximum of 1000). Describe your academic interests and reasons for applying. Include details of work experience you consider relevant to your proposed study, career objectives and relevant non-academic achievements. You must complete, sign and date the Declaration form attached to the end of this document and upload this with reference letters to the reference section of the application form on the UKPASS website.
