Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to Learning Outcomes Associated Programme Outcomes On completion students should be able to: Apply critically ethical and legal principles appropriate to the non-profit and voluntary sector to questions and problems faced in management practice; 1. Describe briefly the Irish legal system and the place of voluntary organisations therein 2. Explain the various areas of law into which voluntary organisations impinge 3. Recognise the nature of legal problems likely to arise in the management of voluntary organisations and to identify the sources of assistance in the solution. Reflect on their experience in the light of human and social commitments based on considerations of ethics and justice, equality and respect for persons in order to critique past practice and present policies.
