Dear Parent,
GCSE ENGLISH LITERATURE TEXTS
OF MICE AND MEN/AN INSPECTOR CALLS
As part of your son’s GCSE English Literature course he will be studying Of
Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and An Inspector Calls by JB Priestley. In
order for the analysis of these texts to be undertaken effectively, it is advised
that he purchases his own copies of the texts so that he can write his own
notes in them. These annotations will be invaluable to his revision and
coursework completion.
Exam board regulations stipulate that students are no longer allowed to take
annotated copies of the texts into the exam, so the English Department will
provide clean copies to be used for the duration of the examination.
The total cost of the texts will be £11.50. Please pay via the Parent Pay
System. Complete and return the reply slip below to the school by Thursday
25 November 2010. We will then order the texts for your son.
Yours faithfully,
Miss S L Evans
