Blake Trafford Trip Notes
CADS Festival March 22-27 2015
Mont Sainte Anne Quebec
I would first like to start off by saying a huge thank you to everyone who organized this years festival. I had an absolute blast and I was not disappointed by both the skiing conditions and how well put together and organized the festival itself was.
Skiing
I was guided by Bruce Meredith and he was once again an excellent guide for me. He taught me a few things that I could improve upon.
As for the amount of things I learned, I was surprised at just how much I learned despite having many years of experience skiing. I learned how to set an edge better when going into a tight turn on a race course and I learned that I was being lazy with my hands and by the end of the first day I felt that I had pretty much solved that problem.
The ski conditions themselves were amazing. I had actually skied at both Mont Sainte
Anne and Le Massif about a month beforehand on a school ski trip and along with being a really neat experience it gave me a chance to ski around both mountains to get a feel for them and what the runs were like for the festival. It paid off and I was rewarded with spectacular views of the mighty Saint Lawrence River and fabulous ski conditions at both mountains.
I met a lot of wonderful people at the festival and I was amazed at the amount of fun activities there were to do during the week. I especially enjoyed the apres ski social after skiing. It was a great way to meet new people.
I would like to conclude by once again thanking everyone who organized the festival and gave out subsidies to us skiers who made it to the festival. It was an excellent festival and I can’t wait to go to next years festival wherever it’ll end up being.
Thanks again and I hope to see you all next year on the hills!
Regards
Blake Trafford
