The Attack by Cassie Winterburn
“mom when are we going to open the presents?” I asked with excitement we can as soon as
everyone eats their breakfast,” my mom answered. Finally everyone eats their breakfast. Now
we can open our presents. I had a face full of excitement to open up my gifts. I asked mom
who was going to be santa’s elf. Mom replied that I could be but my older sister already started
so I couldn’t. I got my first present I was so happy to open it up. Then I opened it slowly. It was
a bryar horse! When I was opening my second last gift I opened it slowly scared to see what it
was. Then I screamed it was a very famous horse. His name is lil ricky rocker. I was so excited.
Now it was my last gift. I tore it open and in my hands was a mare and her colt. The foal was so
cute. The mare was so so so gorgeous. Shes black but on her hind quarters she is white with
black spots. The foal is all white with black spots all over his body. I was so happy I called my
best friend Brenna. I told her come over to play with my horses! She was on her way over to
my house. When she got here we raced to the livingroom where the horses were. I was so
happy, so excited, so amazed that I got all my horses for Christmas. Brenna and I went outside
to the not-so-big bush to play there. It looked like a bush with lots of trees massive really in
length. We tramped through the deep snow with my horses. Then we got to the bush finally.
We put the horses down on the ground Brenna and I looked away for a minute. Brenna heard
a big bang and then a little soft twinkle! I just realized that I heard the sound too. We looked
at the bush but did not see a thing. What was it? Then I heard the sound of a horse’s nicker.
Could it be true? Of course not. Then something interrupted my thoughts but it was not
Brenna! It was it was a a aCOUGAR!! That’s when I saw my horses all alive! I pinched myself
to wake up from this nightmare I was having. But nothing happened but I did yelp out in pain! I
looked behind me and there was the foal. Brenna had big eyes and a terrified look on her face.
The cougar wanted the little colt but I could not hold on pinching myself a second longer!
Where was the cougar? Then all of a sudden I heard a foal cry out in fear or was that pain? I
looked behind me and there was the cougar and the foal within an arm’s length away! Then
snatch the cougar had him! He tried to get out of the cougar’s hold but the colt could not get
out. He was gone I knew it. Brenna had big big big eyes showing fear. The colt’s mother came
and was fighting the cougar. There was no way she could win against the meat-eating cougar.
It jumped at her head Brenna screamed out in fear for her. The cougar looked at us and was
making its way to us, but the mare hit him. Brenna and I climbed the tree nice and high so that
the tree branches moved. The cougar was on the mare’s back. Brenna said
