Homework/Make Up Work Policy: Students are responsible for completing assignments regardless of participation in school activities. Students who are absent because of illness or for authorized participation in school activities will be given the opportunity to make-up work; usually that subject’s next make-up day. Students will be responsible for obtaining and completing the makeup work in a satisfactory manner. All make-up work will be done under the supervision of the teacher after school hours. Students who are absent and receive an incomplete for a nine weeks period have one week of the next nine weeks to make up work in order to raise their grade to 70 or above for eligibility purposes. Students who are absent, but fail to make-up work within a designated period of time will also fail to receive credit for the work they have missed (Sheldon ISD, Secondary Student Handbook). Late Assignments: Any assignment not submitted upon the due date, as determined by the teacher, will be considered “late work” (Sheldon ISD, Secondary Student Handbook). One letter grade will be deducted for each day an assignment is late. After three days the assignment will no longer be accepted. Make-up Work: A student is responsible for obtaining and completing the makeup work in a satisfactory manner and within the time specified by the teacher. Secondary teachers may assign a late penalty to any project in accordance with timelines approved by the Principal and previously communicated to students. It is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to find out what makeup work is required. A student who does not make up assigned work within the time allotted by the teacher will receive a grade of zero for the assignment. Students who participate in extra-curricular activities will be allowed to make up work missed during the extra-curricular event (Sheldon ISD, Secondary Student Handbook). Daily assignments and notes can be found in the bin under the “What did I miss?” sign. If you have further questions about what you missed please speak with me before or after class. Assignments missed due to an excused absence are due within a week from the date of the absence. After this time period the assignment will count as a zero. Plagiarism/Cheating: These activities will not be tolerated and will result in a zero grade for the assignment. If you have questions about properly citing sources, please speak with me. Procedures: Come in quietly, sit in your assigned seat and begin working on the warm-up. If you need supplies, please get them at the beginning of class. Please ask questions if you don’t understand, just raise your hand first. The bell does not dismiss you from my class, I do. If you leave the classroom at any time with my permission, of course, you must sign in/out on the sheet located at the front of the classroom. “It’s the little details that are vital.
