MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To teach and support participants on the programme in order to give them the necessary skills,
motivation and knowledge to progress into employment, apprenticeships, work placements or
further education/training through the delivery of a structured study programme plan.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF JOB

Carry out initial assessments of participants to enable tailored training and support to
be offered and delivered.

Deliver English, Mathematics, ICT, Personal, Social and Employability from Entry 2 to
Level 2.

Delivery of structured personal training programmes and workshops designed to allow
participants a smooth transition into placements/jobs or other training programmes as
necessary.

Complete all necessary paperwork requirements of the EFA, Awarding Bodies and
KAE including but not limited to individual learning plans, schemes of work, lesson
plans and evaluations

Meet the individual needs of learners in accordance with their individual learning plan,
including regular reviews and feedback.

Ensure that participants’ records are maintained and kept up-to-date.

To update and design new course material and resources to reflect learners and
funding body requirements.

To keep the IAG & NEET Programmes Manager and Deputy Head of Service for
Curriculum fully informed of any relevant issues pertaining to study programmes and
other young persons’ training delivered.

To adhere to KAE’s Safeguarding Policy and to report any incidents immediately to
the Safeguarding Officer

Contribute to the sharing of good practice and support continuous professional
improvement

Promote a positive image of KAE and all of the services it delivers.

Actively contribute to maintenance of a professional and welcoming environment
within KAE centres.

Any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.

Commit to the well-being of staff and actively promote RBK’s Health & Safety policies

Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post, as may be required from
time to time

Possess the teaching qualification DTTLS or be working towards this
qualification
Experience of working with and mentoring/offering support to young people
including from disadvantaged

employability programmes
Demonstrate a positive attitude and approach to work
Flexible and adaptable to changing goals and circumstances
