Your group will lead a discussion for 15-20 minutes on _______________________________. Religious/Spiritual beliefs found in the myths: how their world was created, who was doing the creating, etc. Universal “truths” gleaned from the myth – themes Quotes/CDs that reveal universal truths/themes from the text Presentations must include: 1. Introduction of the people/culture – when, where, how the people lived - Display, audio, or video showcasing the culture’s art (music, writing, visual art) 2. Close textual analysis discussion of the myth text: A. Religious/spiritual beliefs – how the world was created and by who/what/why B. CDs that reveal the deeper universal truths/themes C. Discussion of what it means to be human in the context of that particular culture D. Why the myth was written/implications of the myth on society – see class notes In the presentations: Every member of the group must present for an equal amount of time. 3 visuals must be present: two historic artifacts, third is your choice Your group must also be prepared to answer any questions that may arise—make sure you are conducting thorough research!
