Utilize basic management skills applicable to leisure service setting as they relate to the analysis of programs, services and resources and participation requirements 2. Understand and apply the processes required for effective leadership and administration of leisure services including ethics and professionalism 3. Describe the types of financial plans, budget cycle and prepare a simple budget 4. Create policies and procedures appropriate to various setting 5. Demonstrate an understanding of human resource development and employee selection and training 6. Apply techniques and strategies for agency marketing 7. Understand the impact of recreation services on the economic development of the community and surrounding areas. 8. Understand legal foundations, contracts and tort law, regulatory agents and methods of compliance 9. Understand principles of risk management and safety relating to the provision of leisure services. Testing Services Writing Center Course Specific Policies Submitting Assignments-all assignments will be submitted to appropriate "drop box", "forum" or quiz section of the course website. To avoid technical difficulties-do not wait until the last minute to complete assignments Assignment Due Dates-All assignments are due 1 hour central time the day of class Late Assignments: I do not lock the drop boxes, so if you miss a deadline you may still upload an assignment. I will deduct 5% each day an assignment is late. However, once I grade the uploaded assignments, I will not go back to grade a late assignment. This means that after I grade the assignments and your assignment is not there you will receive zero points. Expectations Students will participate in all class meetings and are expected to have completed pertinent assignments prior to class meetings Students will be expected to fully participate in experiential laboratory and out-of-class experiences as described by the course outline at the beginning of the semester.
