IU Kokomo Art Gallery’s Call for Entry: “Harmony” Harmony. Within this word there is no strong side or weak side. In harmony, separate parts complement one another without destroying the opposing party. Visual art and music are such partners in harmony. One encourages another to appear. Artists are invited to submit works inspired by music. GALLERY: The Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery is located on the IU Kokomo campus. The gallery displays artwork by local, regional, national, and international artists throughout the year. Our 2015 Intern Libby Kimbrough will curate this show. ELIGIBILITY: The exhibit is open to all artists who are at least 18 years of age. All fine art media are accepted including: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, glass, prints, photography, collage, graphics, pastels, video, and mixed media. All entries must be original and created within the last two years. The artwork must be no larger than 48” in width measured horizontally. Sculptures should not exceed 11ft in height due to gallery space. All work must be accurately represented in jpeg images. Work not meeting these criteria will not be exhibited. PRESENTATION: Professional presentation of each piece is required. 2D artwork must be framed and have a secure way to hang the piece. For canvases, the sides and all staples must be covered. Sculptures should be fully assembled and structurally sound and include detailed installation instructions, if necessary. ENTRY: All entries can either be emailed to gallery2@iuk.edu (preferred) with the subject line: “Harmony” or sent on CD to INDIANA UNIVERSITY KOKOMO ART GALLERY : Harmony 2300 S. WASHINGTON STREET KOKOMO, IN 46904-9003 If you wish to have your CD returned please send a self-addressed stamped envelope with correct postage. All entries will be chosen from highresolution (300dpi) jpeg images. A maximum of 4 pieces can be entered per artist. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce images accepted into the show for promoting and archiving the exhibition. DELIVERY & PICK-UP: Delivery and pick-up of the artwork will be the responsibility of the artist. The artist may choose to either personally drop-off and pick-up the work during gallery hours or ship their work to the gallery. It is the artist's responsibility to send any shipped artwork in a sturdy, reusable box with a prepaid return shipping label inside. Any work not picked up 30 days after the end of the show will become property of the IU Kokomo Art Gallery. SALES: Sales are encouraged. The gallery will retain 30% of all sales, giving the artist 70%. Artists will be paid within 30 days from the close of the exhibition on work that is sold. Any work not for sale needs to be indicated by NFS (not for sale) and an insurance value not exceeding fair market value must be included on the entry form. All work will be insured by the gallery at declared value for the duration of the show.
