SO first off, you’re going to want to get out all those stains on your stove from your buddy dropping a homemade pizza upside-down and the stains at the bottom of the fridge from when you spilled the chocolate milk. So it appears as though your house is a little messy. Well, you have stumbled upon the right place my friend. This pamphlet will show you how to take care of those ugly stains, that nasty smell, and anything else that wasn’t there before your little ‘get together’. After reading this pamphlet, you will know how to use all those crazy cleaning agents you have never heard of before, and know the safety hazards of them too! My friend, you will know EVERYTHING you need to know to prevent harm, and have a spotless house all at the same time. Clorox Disinfecting Bleach which is a type of liquid bleach is also known as sodium hypochlorite - NH4 OH. Before using this little guy, you should know that it is corrosive, it causes burns and irritation of the skin and it releases dangerous fumes when mixed with other products. For this product, you’ll need to wear gloves seeing as it is corrosive. You will pour the sufficient amount into water, (according to the label on the bottle) and use an old clothe to simply wipe down the surface. It is pretty straight forward; just make sure you don’t get it on your skin! When you are done with it, you can dispose of it by pouring it down the sink, or toilet bowl, (unless you are on a septic tank) and rinse/flush it down nicely. Make sure you store it where children cannot reach it, and there you go! Congratulations! Your surfaces are clean! Instead of using this ‘dangerous’ product, you can rely on good old muscle. Simply take some soap and a wet clothe, put that back into it and scrub away! An environmentally friendly alternative would be using Seventh Generation Natural All-Purpose Cleaner, which generally does the same thing, but is considered a green product. NEXT up, you, my friend, are going to tackle the toilet bowl. I know, it won’t be fun, but hey, you are the one that decided to have a ‘get together’, am I right? Well, let’s get started. For this assignment, you will be using Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner. This product is a disinfectant cleaner and is also known as benzalkonium chloride C22 H40 ClN. It would be helpful to know that it is corrosive to the eyes and skin, it is harmful and possibly fatal if swallowed, and it stains clothing. You should avoid breathing in the fumes, and having the cleaner touch your skin. NOW you have to take care of the bed sheets since you decided to eat ketchup chips and spill cream soda on them. For this, you will use Shout Triple-Acting Laundry Stain Remover. Works Cited “Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach” Clorox®Canada. 2013. Web. You will squeeze some of the liquid onto all sides of the bowl and let it sit for 10 minutes without closing the lid of the toilet (it would be smart to wear gloves for this). Now, grab a brush, and scrub away. Flush the toilet when you’re done and rinse the brush in water. Be sure to put the product back in a place that is out of reach for children. Et voila, your toilet bowl is clean! An alternative to this would be using Fruits & Passion Art Home Ecological Heavy Duty Cleaner which is an all purpose cleaner. It might not be as affective as the toilet bowl cleaner, but it is much more environmentally friendly. This product is a spot and stain remover and is also known as ethoxylated alcohol CH2 CH2 O. Be aware when using this product to keep it away from your eyes, skin, and mouth because it can cause irritation. This product does not have any hazards that are extreme enough to have to put the symbol on the bottle. To use this product, you simply spray it on the stain, and throw it in the washing machine as you would with any other laundry. When you’re done with it, just put it in a spot where children can’t reach it and your GOLDEN! An environmentallyfriendly alternative for this is, you guessed it, taking some soap and a wet clothe and scrubbing like crazy. You go girl! ;) Congrats, you now have a clean house! “Material Safety Data Sheet” Reckitt Benckiser Info. October 30th, 2009. Reckitt Benckiser. Web.
