The packaging of shipments is extremely important. If you have ever bought an apple product then you know what good packaging looks like. Apple product packaging makes you feel like the packaging is a gift in and of itself. We want to be doing the same thing with our packages. Why this is important: For someone ordering a package for themselves: o Want them to feel very special by the packaging. o Want them to feel that they are unwrapping a present to themselves (which it is) o Want them to be so impressed with the packaging that they instantly think of people they want to send our products to as gifts For someone receiving it as a gift: o We want them to really be receiving two gifts. 1st – The package and presentation itself should be a gift because it is so impressive 2nd – The products o When people receive one of our packages as a gift we want them to be so impressed that they want to give it away as a gift to someone else… They want to share the wonderful Pure Mountain experience that they had. Deciding what box to use: Whether or not to use a flat rate box depends on how much it costs. If the shipment is going somewhere in the northeast it is likely that it is going to be cheaper to use a bottle box (and not a flat rate). How to figure it out: o Get the bottles together o Weight them with a box and with the pieces of cardboard o Enter the weight and address in stamps.com app Note: o When shipping on stamps, sometimes it is cheaper to ship priority and sometimes it’s cheaper to ship standard mail. Always check both If the shipment is two bottles and a couple salts then we need to use the cut down white box unless it is cheaper to ship flat rate Materials Needed: Flat rate box or Bottle box (the white box that the bottles come in) Bottle box cut down to be made smaller o For shipments of 1-2 bottles we need to cut down the white boxes Packing slip (printed from big commerce) Recipes for each product “packing slip thank you “checkout insert” rack flyer Gift card if requested (template in shipping folder) Tissue paper o 1 piece for each bottle and two other pieces for the box (see below) 4 fragile stickers 1- 4 piece cardboard for each bottle twine/raffia bow o 34 inches for each bottle bubble wrap Instructions for packaging box: Print out the packaging slip Get the products together Wrap each bottle in tissue paper closed at both ends (not like we do when people are buying in store leaving one end open) Wrap the bottle and tissue paper in a 4 piece cardboard o (salts and spouts should also be wrapped in tissue paper) Wrap the cardboard with 34 inch twine/raffia bow tying it on the opposite side as the opening Put two pieces of bubble wrap on the bottom of the package Take a piece of bubble wrap and fold it in half (see picture below) Put tissue paper under the folded bubble wrap and put on sides of box Insert all the bottles with the ribbon up put all the printed material on top of the bottles fold the bubble wrap and tissue paper over the bottles and paper tape the box shut print out the packaging slip and tape it to top of box put fragile stickers on side of box and put one half on top and half on one side Instructions for cutting down white box: cut off the flaps take one flap and cut the sides of box down the length of the flap use the discarded flaps to fold over the new flaps. Place inside the box and then fold downward now use the box like you normally would If it comes out really messy then throw it out and start over!
