Max Kandhola Brief bibliography (Oct 2013) Max Kandhola is a fine art documentary photographer and head of Photography at Nottingham Trent University. He works from Birmingham, Brighton, London and Nottingham. Kandhola studied photography under John Hodgetts at Bourneville College of Art followed by First Class BA Hons Degree in Photography taught by Nick Hedges at Wolverhampton Polytechnic. Max Kandhola’s approach is philosophical – photography used within a cultural discourse, critically observing and questioning the complexity and relationship of the human condition and the politics of representation in photography. Kandhola has used photography to reflect on the following themes: Death & Dying; Faith; Urban and Rural Landscape; Boxing as a Metaphor: An exploration of society and cultures. Working as an academic and artist, over the past 15 years Max Kandhola has successfully supported a number of young artists careers and aspirations through specific personal mentoring; portfolio development, editorial advice for direct outcome towards publication, exhibition and support for business strategic development within arts.
