Trainer:
Karen O’Neill is a BACP senior accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and PTUK
accredited Play Therapist with over 13 years clinical experience. She has trained in
Somatic Trauma Therapy and EMDR. Her private practice is in Essex, where she offers
psychotherapy, clinical supervision and consultancy work. She has a wealth of experience
in delivering trainings on behalf of national and international organisations as-well
bespoke trainings/CPD.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the training, the Practitioner will be able to:
1. Apply and explain theoretical aspects of trauma to underpin their work with clients
who have experienced trauma
2. Identify and synthesise signs and symptoms of trauma in clients
3. Identify and incorporate resources and strategies to support the client in facilitating
the healing process
4. Use creative and imaginative exercises to develop and enhance therapeutic
responses and explorations for clients who have experienced trauma
5. Understand secondary trauma and explore the impact of this in clinical supervision
