Standards: CS2.4 Describe the overall structure of a story, including describing how the beginning introduces the story and the ending concludes the action. Teacher Facilitation #1: Whole group read aloud of "Harry the Dirty Dog" by Gene Zion 2. Teacher Facilitation #2: Story Illustrations - Whole group discussion on how Harry responds to challenges using clues from the illustrations in the text. 3. Student Application #1: Matching text to illustrations. - Students will be provided with text and illustrations from the story. - Students will have to match the text to the illustration based on what they seeing happening in the picture. - Teacher will support as necessary. 4. Student Application #2: Sequencing story events. - Students will work to place pictures of story events in the correct sequential order. - Teacher will help students recall story events and support as necessary.
