Women Athletes Business Network Mentoring Program Rania Amr Elwani Rania Amr Elwani is currently a Physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Al Galaa Maternity hospital in Cairo, Egypt. She also serves as Vice CEO of the Alexandria 2017 bid for the Mediterranean games and is completing her degree in Healthcare and Hospital Management at the American University in Cairo, Egypt (2014). She is a Three-time Olympian in Swimming and participated in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 games. She received numerous awards during her competitive career including; Egyptian record holder for freestyle events (50,100,200,400), 100 fly and 100 back, 1991-todate, NCAA champion, 200 free relay, Runner-up in the 100 free, 1999, AllAmerican (Top 6) 1996-1999, Arab Champion 1991-2000, as well as top 5 and top 10 finishes in multiple World Championships. Elwani has a Master of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Ain Shams University, a Sports Management Diploma from the Centre International d’Etudes de Sport, Switzerland, Cairo Program (CIES/FIFA program), a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Misr University of Science and Technology, Cairo, Egypt, and a Bachelor of Science from the Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. In addition to her academic and athletic prowess, Elwani has founded several organizations such as the Egyptian Olympians Association, Sport For Development, Elwani Swimming Academy, and is Cofounder of Icon Sports Management. She is also a Champion for Peace with Peace and Sport organization in Monaco. Elwani has been a member of numerous boards and currently serves as a Member of the International Olympic Committee medical commission, a Member of ANOC medical commission (Association of National Olympic Committees), and a Member of WADA foundation board representing ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committees).
