Job Description Job Title: Sales Manager, Print and Digital Submit Resume to: Recruiting@spe.org SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE Sales Manager will be responsible for North and South American sales with a specified territory, and upon request, international sales activities associated with SPE print and digital advertising sales as well as other SPE related products and offerings. The selling and sales process includes, but is not limited to telephone, email, and face-to-face selling at SPE sponsored exhibitions and meetings, other industry functions and proactive sales meetings with clients and prospects. Sales Manager will manage the other print and digital sales representatives worldwide as well as assist senior management in developing corporate sales and marketing strategies designed to increase revenue and offer a more diverse product offering. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Sell print and digital advertising space for SPE publications and products. Manage print and digital sales representatives throughout various SPE offices. Schedule and hold regular sales meetings with reports. Develop sales goals and targets for each sales representative. Work, as necessary, with individual sales reps to insure they are trained in SPE policies and procedures as they relate to ad sales and production. Establish and maintain a regular schedule of telephone contact with assigned accounts. Generate new leads and make cold phone calls to prospective customers. Sell to customers and prospects at SPE events, as assigned. Contact customers for program and digital advertising, event sponsorships, corporate sponsorships, and other value-added services as assigned. Maintain an accurate history of contact with all customers and prospects utilizing the company's contact management software. Insure sales reps are utilizing company’s contact management software and maintain accurate notes and call reports. Handle incoming calls for advertising space sales and related products and services. Organize and execute mailings of all promotional materials to new prospects and existing customers. Written communications with all customers/prospects pertaining to opportunities and deadlines. Customer service relating to all advertisers and sponsors. Develop sales prospect lists, from missing advertisers, for sales reps to follow-up. Provide supervisor with regular reports on the sales progress toward monthly revenue goals and sales by rep. Assist in the creation of new SPE marketing and promotional concepts (including the Media Kits) for customers, as well as new product development for events. Develop and present new sales ideas and revenue generating ideas to management. Work with Production and Finance departments to insure that all sales orders are complete and accurate. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with SPE policy and standards. Ability to recruit and interview new employees as needed. Job Description SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will manage the print and digital advertising sales representatives in various SPE offices. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 5 years related experience in sales or marketing. Experience in management is highly preferred.
