A rock can be a solid, a liquid, and a gas. Most rocks that you see are solids, but when rock gets very hot
it can turn into a liquid and a gas. This happens to rocks during a volcanic eruption. The rocks get very,
very hot and it becomes a liquid. This liquid is called magma. During the eruption, the rock gets so hot
that some of it turns into a gas and floats away. Once it cools down, the liquid magma turns back into
solid rock.

There are many steps in making paper. The first step to make paper is to dry the wood, and cut it into
chips. Next, the chips are ground up into a pulp. Pulp is the liquid form of paper. Then the pulp is rolled
over a screen to remove the extra liquid. Finally, the dried paper is rolled into a large roll. A long time
ago the Chinese used thick paper for blankets clothes and shoes, but now we just use it to write on.

water. When water is a liquid, it takes the shape of any container you put it in. The water in a drinking
fountain is a liquid. When water is heated it starts to boil. Little bubbles form in the water and it is very
hot. Steam comes off the water. The steam is water as a gas.

water. This creates a concrete liquid. The concrete liquid is poured into a mold. The concrete liquid dries
and all the water evaporates into the air. Once it is dry, it is solid concrete like the kind you see on a
sidewalk.
