MATHS
GCSE Maths (either higher or foundation all content)
On firefly in the Maths area/support/ks4there is a topic list sorted by grade, and a video for
every topic, with an associated worksheet for practice. All students have been shown this.
You can all use mymaths which you already know about also. Please ask your teacher for
drop in sessions in Maths. All home learning include previous exam questions, as are many
of the questions used in lessons so students are familiar with exam style questions.

Students are already doing exam work in lessons, they will have the mocks in December. All

BUSINESS
You need to revise Unit 2: Finance for Business – copy of content that you need to know is
on firefly.
There is a sample test on firefly. The actual exam is also computer based. Finance section of
BBC Bitesize and Tutor 2 U website are suitable for revision.

Media
The media exam will be based on a he 50+ magazine or music video coursework that you
have just completed. It will be one and half hour exam. It will be a walking talking mock, so
you would have modelled yours with excellent answers before writing yours.

All coursework has to be handed in. Your new project starts after Christmas and there is a
May exam deadline. However, there is a facility for you to catch up on Tuesday and
Thursday after school.

HEALTH & SOCIAL
For Health & Social you will have two mock exams. One for Unit 9 and the other for Unit 1.
You should have purchased a green revision guide last year which would cover both exams.

PE
You should be revising Year 10 short course work.
For revision please use BBC bitesize but we also recommend that students buy the revision
guide. However, PE hold revision sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. Students are
already working from old exam papers and they are all available to use.
GEOGRAPHY
You will sit a full Unit 2 (physical) paper lasting 1 ¼ hours. You will need to answer a full
question on each physical topic, coasts, rivers, tectonics and wasteful world.
You will also have ½ of Unit 3 (human) paper and will need to answer a full question on
population and one on migration.
Staff are available for extra help/revision on a Thursday from 3.10 to 4.10 p.m.
Past papers are all available on firefly.

HISTORY
OCR Modern World History Units Germany 1918-1945 including Weimar Republic, nazi rise
to power and life under the Nazis and the Cold War 1945-1975 including causes of the Cold
War, Cuban missile crisis and Vietnam war.

Revision guides are available to purchase from your teacher. Revision sessions: Monday and
Wednesday 12.10 – 12.30 for A*- B, Wednesday and Thursday 3.10 – 4 p.m. for C/D
borderline and for anyone who needs extra help. Exam style questions and exam test
practice papers are done during lessons. Extra papers are available on request.

Students should be revising all of unit 1 - yr 10 content - Research, Education and Family.
There is a recommended revision guide, which you can purchase.
There are Tuesday afterschool drop-ins for any students who want to revise or catch-up.

teacher.
