“Welcome to Kindergarten” On Feb 2, 2016 at 6:00 pm BES will be hosting our Welcome to Kindergarten
event. This event is for both parents and their children who have registered to start school September 2016.
There will be a presentation for parents and activity sessions for the children. The families will be presented with
resources that goes hand-in-hand with their learning at home.
“Hello from Guidance” In February we will be discussing Habit #2 “Begin With the End in Mind”. This topic is
important because it teaches students to think how we want our life situations to end. Through classroom
discussions and activities we will talk about setting goals while learning about how to look ahead in order to plan
for success. No matter whether it is at home or school, it is good to have a plan and know what you are working

“Internet Safety Week” The week of Feb. 8th-12th is Internet Safety Week. The District Technology Mentors
have been busy preparing Internet Safety Lessons for teachers to use during this week. It is specific towards
Grades 3-5 and they will be involved and will be receiving information pamphlets to share with their parents.

“Danny and Jessica Angel Foundation” On behalf of the Belleisle Elementary School staff and students, I would
like to say thank you to the Danny and Jessica Angel Foundation for their generosity. Each year the foundation
donates $600 in Sobeys’ Gift cards for healthy snacks and/or meals for our students.
“Congratulations to Miss. Alyssa Vail” On May 15, 2015 Nestle Water had a contest “draw a label” for a prize of
free markers. Alyssa entered the contest and about 3 week later she go the markers in the mail. Thinking nothing
else about the contest on October 15, 2015 she got a email which said “Congratulations, Alyssa, you won the
‘draw a label’ contest and your drawing will be printed on bottles of Nestle Water and you will receive a gift
basket. Alyssa was over the moon. On January 21, 2016 was the first day Alyssa had seen her label on the bottles.
