Complete assignments and
bring materials to class
Be Responsible in the Classroom!
When you complete assignments and
bring materials to class, you do all of the
requirements of an assignment and you
submit that assignment to the teacher as
asked to do so. You bring that
assignment to class when required, as well
as your books, notebooks, pencils, etc.
that the teacher requires for that class.
Teacher Model

I am getting ready to go to school in the morning. It helps me if I
have my things in a designated spot so I do not have to look for
them in the morning. As much as possible, I have my things ready
the night before. Today I am getting my backpack and making sure
my science book and science folder are in my backpack so I can
bring them to class. We had science homework last night, so I
check my folder to make the assignment I completed is there. I
have the rest of my materials at school, so I will get them when I
arrive.

I have arrived at school, and it is time to go to my locker or desk.
Science is my first class, so I take my science book, science folder
(with assignment in it,) science notebook, and a pen with me to
class. Those are the items that my science teacher wants me to
bring to class, so that is what I am taking.
Example
Jeff has P.E. Coach Stocks has asked
students to bring a shirt, a pair of shorts,
and a pair of gym shoes to wear for P.E.
Jeff puts those things in his duffel bag and
goes to P.E. class.
Non-example
Alex has P.E. and math. Coach Stocks has
asked students to bring a shirt, a pair of
shorts, and a pair of gym shoes to wear
for P.E. Alex doesn’t really like to wear
gym clothes, so he just goes to class
without taking anything. He also didn’t
feel like doing his math homework, so he
didn’t do it.
Example
Alyssa has English. Mrs. Howe always
wants Alyssa to bring her pleasure reading
book to class. Alyssa gets her English
book, folder with her completed
homework, notebook, and pencil and
makes sure she has her pleasure reading
book, as well.
Practice
Take turns listing the materials you would
need for a specific class.
 Take turns giving ideas for finding time to
complete all assignments.

Teachers
You can remind students for a few days, “I
expect that you completed your ________
assignment and brought your _______,
__________, and _________ to class.”
