MC Audition Info for October Concert
What is an MC?
It is a student or small group of students who “entertain” the audience with a prerehearsed skit or speaking part at the choir concert.
Who can be an MC?



Choir students with acting and public speaking experience
A in choir, no missing choir assignments
Pass grade check of all classes with grades C or higher
When are auditions?
Thursday September 25th A-B-C lunch only!
How do I audition?
a. Sign-ups for auditions will be posted on the wall next to the stage door. You may pick 1 lunch time
spot to audition for Mrs. Umbrianna. If you are auditioning in a group, the whole group must be
present. The students will “perform” their skit or speaking part as if it was the concert, memorized
and well-practiced. If this includes costume or props please prepare wear and use the props as if it
was the concert.
b. There are 4 MC spots for the 10/28 concert. Please choose to show 1 or 2 of your most rehearsed
skits or speaking parts using the topics/ideas provided. Each skit or speaking part is 1-2 minutes, it
will be timed. Not under 1 minute or over 2.
When will I know?
Friday 9/26 after school on the website and stage door

Missed auditions will not be made up, communication and planning is key!
If you KNOW you will not pass grade check, do not sign up! Grade check will be Thursday 8am.
The most prepared, entertaining, creative and talented are chosen, in that ORDER.
There will be other MC auditions for future concerts.

MC TOPICS for OCTOBER 28th CONCERT:
MC #1: (spoken, done by 1 or 2 people) THIS IS FUNNY takes timing!
Welcome to the First PJHS Choir Concert of the 2014-15 school year! My name is___________and I will
be your host this evening. Wow, this is just amazing to see so many people here tonight. Let’s give a
round of applause for all the students who are performing tonight (clap with audience and look around at all
the students)…….…….Let’s give another round of applause for this school(clap with audience and look
around at all the students)…..wait…....and the staff (clap with audience and look around at all the students,
the audience will start to get annoyed so still act pumped up and continue)……..and the parents….and the
grandparents…..and the aunts/uncles…..brothers and sisters…….the lady over there with the (looking at
some women in the audience)...... (Mrs. U……grabs you and sends you off stage. She apologizes to the
audience 
MC#2: (skit, 2-4 people)
Halloween themed “choir kids way of trick or treating”
MC#3: (singing/acting 1-4 people)
Singing/playing instrument: “The life of a choir boy” made up song about male singer: things to considerthe boy to girl ratio, women love men who sing, singing high and low, being so popular never have free time
etc. (I can’t help but think of Adam Sandler and his singing—this should be hilarious!)
MC#4: (skit, 2-4 people)
Choir kid needs help on what to be for Halloween? (nothing scary, no masks—our audience is FAMILIES!)
