Men's Choir: 90-100-voice select men's group, singing everything from great hymns and choral
classics to barbershop and Broadway. Audition IN CLASS the first day of school each semester,
singing a brief melody selected by the director. Meets MWF 3:15. Music 315.
Women's Choir: 90-100-voice select women's group; sings challenging women's repertoire and
performs regularly with Men's Choir. Audition in Snow 282B beginning 1-2 days before classes
each semester; sing a prepared art song or hymn verse, take aural skills and sight-singing tests,
and range check. Meets MWF 2:00. Music 316.
Collegiate Singers: 45-50 voice choir performing challenging SATB repertoire of all styles.
Audition in Snow 282C, beginning 1-2 days before classes each semester; sing a prepared art
song or hymn verse, take aural skills and sight-singing tests, range check, and interview with
director. The choir tours every other year. Meets Daily 12:45. Music 319.
Vocal Union: 12-14 voice vocal jazz group. Great sight-singing skills, ear, and performing
personality needed. Audition in Snow 281A, beginning 1-2 days before classes fall and winter
semesters. Audition with a jazz standard or showtune and take skills tests. The group tours
every other year with the Sound Alliance jazz band. Meets MWF afternoons. Music 318.
University Choir: Large mixed choir, singing great choral classics, sacred music, and music from
around the world. Collaborates regularly with campus orchestras on larger works. NO
AUDITION REQUIRED. Meets MWF at 11:30. Music 312.
Women's Glee: Large women's group, singing choral classics, sacred music, and popular tunes.
For a great time (but no unwanted drama) join the Glee! NO AUDITION REQUIRED. Meets
MWF at 10:15. Music 313.
Opera Scenes: Performs excerpts from operas with staging and costumes (and plenty of
drama) every semester. The Department of Music presents full operas every few semesters in
collaboration with the Department of Theater and Dance. Auditions are the first week of
school; register for Music 317 to indicate interest. Auditionees sing an aria from an opera of
their choice. Meets TWTh evenings, 5:45-7:45. Advanced singers only; non-majors welcome.
