A Workshop with Dr. Taryn Dentinger, DVM, CVA
Sunday, June 5, 2016 10a.m. – 3p.m.
You are invited to participate in a hands on workshop featuring animal acupuncture especially for
our equine pals. Dr. Taryn will demonstrate acupuncture techniques on several horses and then
invite the participants to join her to learn acupressure applications to use with your animals. This
is an interactive workshop where questions are encouraged! There are several spots open should
you wish your horse, dog or cat worked on during the clinic. Contact Debra or Penny at Plum Lake
Dressage for the fee and to make arrangements. Cost for the workshop is $30 and includes lunch.
Dr. Taryn believes that Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, including acupuncture treatment,
is a process of healing. This process requires both the practitioner and the client to make a
commitment to the animal’s health & well being. Her mission statement is to provide personalized
veterinary care that treats every patient as an individual, emphasizing quality of life and the
human-animal bond, utilizing Eastern medicine to treat the whole patient.
Born and raised in Duluth, Taryn earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Carleton
College, her DVM from the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and her CVA
from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She has been practicing veterinary
medicine and acupuncture for a combined total of 13 years.
Acupuncture is beneficial in addressing such issues as performance problems; pain and sore
muscles; degenerative joint disease; allergies; behavior or mood problems; poorly healing wounds;
neurologic disorders; chronic organ dysfunction, digestive problems and skin disease; geriatric
wellness; reproductive and fertility problems, chiropractic adjustment follow-up; laminitis & eye
disorders.
Taryn competes with her Arabian gelding, Rhio, in endurance rides. She also acts as veterinary
judge for distance rides. Her home includes her husband (also a vet), 3 dogs and 2 horses.
