Literacy
This term the children will be
thinking about all the different
celebrations that we have around
this time of year. They will be
creating firework poems, making
Hanukah invitations and retelling
the story of Rama and Sita.
ART
Our art for this term will
be focused on different
celebrations, we will be
creating firework pictures
using chalk and pastels,
designing flags and will also
be making Diva lamps
P.E
Gymnastics – exploring
and sequencing different
movements, bounces,
jumps and landings.
Games – children will
develop a range of ball
skills both individually and
with a partner.
Grasshoppers/ Fireflies

Topic – Celebrations
Maths
The children will be developing
their understanding of place value
and applying their learning in
addition and subtraction to
solving problems. They will also be
investigating different aspects of
measure.
Science
We will be learning about what animals need to
have to be able to grow. We will also be
thinking about the different parts of an
animal and how these animals change as they
grow. The children will also learn terminology
such as: Herbivore, Omnivore and Carnivore.
History
This term in history our topic is toys.
They will be able to investigate old toys
and start to compare them with the
toys we have today. They will also be
learning about the first teddy bear.
ICT
This term the children will be
having a go at programming
and debugging different
internet games. They will be
using their navigating skills
and working as a team.
PSHE
(Personal, social and health education)
As well as stand-alone lessons we
incorporate PSHE into the rest of the
curriculum and focus on the different
school values. This half term is Making
a Contribution. There is a particular
focus of PSHE within RE lessons.
Music
Music is delivered by Mrs
Heywood and the children
will be looking at exploring
and controlling sounds.
RE
The children will be learning
about different winter
festivals from different
religions such as Christmas,
Hanukah and Diwali.
