ADDITIONAL TLR2 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Within the Key Subject areas of PSHE/ Life Skills Numeracy/ maths, Literacy/ English 1. To be accountable for leading, managing and developing a subject or pupil development across the curriculum- including the Waking Curriculum. a) To lead, review, plan and implement the curriculum to meet the needs of pupils ensuring appropriate and relevant resources are identified, prioritised and made available within budget. b) To collect, monitor and evaluate Policies, Schemes of Work and Curriculum Plans to ensure relevance, progression and continuity. c) To lead the development of an appropriate range of Teaching & Learning Strategies in the subject to meet the needs of all pupils. d) To be responsible for the organisation, collection, analysis and dissemination of data relating to SATS/Accreditation and other forms of Assessment, Recording and Reporting, including Records of Achievement, Work samples, Pupil Reports and Annual Reviews. e) To contribute to the regular Performance Management of Learning Support Assistants (this will be shared with other TLR colleagues) f) To be responsible for your team’s effective and efficient communication with parents, other stakeholders and the wider community. g) To lead on agreed and substantial aspects of the School Improvement Plan. If requested, to report to the SMT and /or Governors. h) Use financial and resource management innovatively and effectively i) To identify and solve problems in a manner that is consistent with the stated aims, vision and policies of the school. j) To undertake induction for new staff in your subject area. 2. To coordinate with and support your TLR colleagues in these additional aspects. If requested- to report to SMT/ Trustees/ Governors on aspects of the SIP relating to PSHE STANDARDS FOR SUCCESS & SCOPE FOR IMPACT Effective leadership and performance management of your team ensures strategic direction in line with SIP and confident, competent and well supported colleagues. Effective leadership of a well designed and documented curriculum ensures pupils enjoy their education and have access to a broad and relevant curriculum which meets their individual needs. Effective management of Assessment, Recording and Reporting produces a wide range of evidence in order to make effective analysis and judgements about pupils’ progress, group patterns and trends. 1 Effective communication within your team, with parents, stakeholders and others in the community encourages participation and partnership, and raises school standards. PSHE The Waking Curriculum a) To advise Residential Care Team of PSHE programmes to use in Residential Care time. b) To liaise with Residential Care Worker + School Nurse re programmes. c) To complete an annual analysis of learning in PSHE activities in Residential Care time. d) To monitor, evaluate and review the Waking Curriculum Policy. e) To maintain good working relationship with outside speakers/ agencies and maintain a database of contacts to use. School Council a) To enable the school council to meet regularly. b) To facilitate those meetings. c) To promote the school council on the web-site and on the School Council notice board. Healthy Schools Quality Mark To promote and maintain the Healthy Schools Quality Mark. To undertake the Certificate in Teaching PSHE. Life Skills Checklist a) To coordinate and oversee the completion of the LSC b) To monitor, evaluate and review the LSC c) To enable the MDT to meet regularly to discuss, evaluate and develop the LSC d) To report progress in Life Skills to the SMT and Board of Governors and Trustees The PSHE post will require some evening sessions. This will be a matter of negotiation, but there will be no increase to the overall expectation of hours worked each week. 2
