Does the district have influence here? Time—time to get the interventions done with fidelity plus those (schools) who have additional need Can we get support based on school need? Can we use intervention resources purchased by SPED? If not, why not? Anyone know of a math progress similar to Lexia, Read 180…? What district support is needed for intervention? Elementary math interventions (Tier 1 & Tier 2) o Available training and materials Normed, research-based writing curriculum & intervention Minimum 1.0 FTE for interventionists! o At-risk schools receive more o At least 1.0 must be MANDATORY in every building! o Not principal choice! Training teachers for Tier 1 interventions in the classroom, including differentiation and classroom management o Difference between interventions and accommodations Training on behavior interventions How to identify root cause? Are the results truly valid? How to really know. How long to monitoring using tools until a decision is made? Is it possible that different schools have different needs for progress monitoring? It’s not one size fits all. Will we get a standard set of tools- like district wide? Is there a way to deliver group progress monitoring? How will GOLD fit into progress monitoring? Consistency of progress monitoring staff- who should be responsible? Tools used also. Are we using the progress monitoring tools we have efficiently? Who at each building should have access to AIMSweb? Do you progress monitor at the level of instruction or grade level? Which students get PALS Quick Checks? Can we get more copies of the Rigby benchmarks? What district support do you need for progress monitoring? Materials!! To match the interventions (time efficient) Help making one assessment work—too much data collection—by grade level? 1.0 FTE Interventionists! Math and behavior also Universities to send us interns to practice in the field Teacher training o Entering Alpine data o Quick Checks o Benchmarks o DRA o Diagnostic progress monitoring for math o Writing 1.0 data entry position Teaming: What teams do you have at your school? Is it working? RtI Team Child Study Team Problem-solving team Elementary/secondary team Management team Leadership Technology Behavior Grade level teams PBIS School Culture and Safety Procedures RtI Consultation Team (1 @ every feeder) We’re not sure if the teams are working Questions about teaming structures in RtI… Why does it look so different at each school? Why isn’t there standard protocol for the district in regards to teams? The RtI process? Why do some schools have FTE for RtI Liaisons and some don’t? Can there be a district mandate for FTE for RTI? If RtI duties are assigned in addition to 1 FTE in another area, such as classroom teacher, BTL, is it in violation of teacher contracts? What district support is needed around teaming for RtI? Money for substitutes Clear definition of what team should look like/ be made of Time or compensation to do the work Principal training/teacher training Buy-in and support Basic knowledge of intervention Funding RTI Coordinators to 1.0 FTE 1.0 FTE for interventionists
