Dear Joy of Catering Home Delivery Client,
Thank you for starting The Joy of Catering’s Meal Delivery Service! Here is some
important information about the service to keep on hand.
1. The menu will be delivered to you NO LATER THAN the last Monday of each
month for the coming month. The menu will be delivered to you either by mail or
in person if you are also receiving a meal that Monday.
2. We would love for you to order your meals by the month or by the week but
your order needs to be placed NO LATER THAN THE FRIDAY BEFORE the week the
meals will be delivered. You can order your meals by either calling us or emailing
us.
3. We understand that circumstances do arise, however our cancellation policy is
at least 48 hours prior to when the meal was to be delivered, otherwise you will
still be charged for the meal.
4. Payment is accepted by credit card, either in person or over the phone, by
check or cash. We can collect cash and checks when the food is delivered or we
can accept checks in the mail. Payment is due at the time of delivery. You will
receive a receipt/bill at the end of each month. The first payment due also
includes a deposit of $10 for the reusable glass container your meal comes in. This
is refundable if you decide to stop receiving meals and our container has been
returned to us in good condition.
5. Each client has two containers, one that your current meal will be delivered in
and one that we will collect for the next meal each time we deliver. Please try to
return the dishes to us clean, they are top-rack dishwasher safe. If you need more
than one meal delivered on any given day we will deliver your meal in a
disposable container at no additional charge.
6. Meals CANNOT be left unrefrigerated, meaning that if you are not available
during our delivery times of Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 4-6pm then
you must make other arrangements i.e. leaving your meal with a neighbor or in a
communal fridge in your building. Please let us know in an appropriate amount of
time if there is a change to your delivery.
7. The glass containers that your meals are delivered in can be placed in the
freezer, top rack of your dishwasher, microwave or a PRE-HEATED oven. The
plastic lids are for storing and microwave use only, please DO NOT place in your
oven. Your meals are delivered to you completely cooked, you simply need to reheat.
For microwave heating: place your glass container in the microwave with the lid
set in a way that air can escape. Gently reheat for 2 minutes for meals that were
refrigerated and 4 minutes from frozen or until hot throughout. You may need to
stir and heat for a little longer, especially if from frozen.
For conventional or convection ovens: PRE-HEAT oven to 350 degrees BEFORE
placing meal in the oven. Remove plastic lid and replace with foil then heat from
refrigerated for 20 minutes or until hot throughout, from frozen the meal should
be heated for at least 45 minutes or until hot throughout.
Meat and poultry entrees should be reheated to 165 degrees.
**For Chicken dishes served on the bone, you should add two tablespoons of
water or chicken broth to the glass container and then heat as instructed above
only START WITH HALF THE AMOUNT OF TIME suggested for your desired cooking
method and increase until the chicken is hot throughout but not dry. You may
also want to heat the sides and the chicken separately.
